Mandalas are abstract art concentrated around a centre point. They appear in the oldest cultures and where used by C. G. Jung in his therapy. Also these days they are very popular. Johan Framhout constructs his mandalas with the computer, a total different way of working compared to compass and drawing paper. This does not mean some program will do the work. Such a programs do exist, but they give poor results. The mandalas on this page are carefully made in long run processes, ending with numerous layers melted with each other. As a result some of this art works have a lot of variations. Some of the most beautiful mandalas where chosen for this site.
